Annika Joy's First Birthday Party

This past Saturday we celebrated Annika's first birthday. We had a party at the park, and it was so windy. It was so windy that the top layer of the ice cream that had melted flew all over me as soon as I opened it. It was so windy that the cake, once half eaten, blew off the table. It was so windy that anything not held down went missing. We had a good time and Annika enjoyed her first cupcake. Her first handful of icing ended up in her leg, but was eaten later when she realized how good it tasted. Icing was on her leg, foot, dress, face, and in her hair. She was so cute, Happy Birthday little Annika.

Last week Bailee went to a dress up birthday party. After we left she said her favorite part was the play house and the chocolate cupcake.

Zaccheus You Come Down!

while at the park Bailee saw a squirrel and decided to befriend it. She began walking slowly towards it and of course it began going the other way. As she got closer the squirrel st oped, turned around, and looked straight at her. She backed up a little and then the squirrel ran up a tree. Bailee being Bailee, she walked up to the tree, looked up and shouted "zaccheus you come down". What are we going to do with her?

Last weekend we took the girls to an Easter egg hunt. (Bailee called it an Easter egg punt) That is not far off considering when we got there it was an open field with tons of eggs laying around. I guess here in California that's how they do it. The girls did not know any different and we all had a great time. I think Annika did not like the grass on her legs, either that or it was time for her nap. She did however love the dog that she and Bailee got to play with for a few minutes.

Last week ricky bought me a new computer. After we got home and were setting it up a friend came over and said it was about time, and that his wife had come home and said she could not believe how slow my computer was. Another friend came over and said that she always brought her laptop to my house because she could not stand using my computer. I guess it really was about time, and I am loving my new laptop. Now maybe I can update the blog in less than two hours, which means more pictures for you guys. :)

I LOVE my new house keeper.

Bailee loves to help me clean the house. Actually she loves to use the cleaning tools. I think her favorite thing to do is to spray the windex. Today while I was cleaning the bathroom I let her take the windex and spray the glass coffee table. I heard her spraying and spraying and spraying. I could only imagine the table covered with windex, and only hope it was not dripping on the carpet. She then began to wipe the table and decided she would need a few more paper towels. She actually does a really good job. I had gone back in the bathroom to finish up and she came in to inform me she had put the hair spray away. I said "what"?, and she said "I put the hair spray away". I just laughed and said o.k. I guess I had better share with her it was glass cleaner and not hair spray. I sure do Love my house keeper.

Easter gifts from MiMi and Pa

Easter presents from MiMi and Pa

Tonight after their bath the girls got to open their Easter gifts from MiMi and Pa. They were so excited, Bailee said it was her Easter egg birthday. Annika loved the peeps, I think it was the noise she could make with the wrapper. I decided to let her try one and she loved it. After she figured out what to do with it, I had to pry it from her hand and dig it out of her mouth when I realized she was not ready for marshmallows. We thank you MiMi and Pa for the gifts, and we thank you Lord for your miraculous Resurrection that gives us a reason to rejoice.
